(KPL) Work on the 25th SEA Games Road Construction Project started in October 2008, its completion date is early October 2009 and up to date 78 per cent of the projected had been completed.
This 4.5 k stretch commences from the Don Noun Three Junction to the new national stadium (SEA Games Stadium) in Xaythany district, Vientiane Capital.
Funding for the US$3.75 million road came from a loan given by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Republic of Korea (US$3 million) and from the Lao government (US$750,000).
This was said by the Director of the SEA Games Road Construction Project, Mr Noulot Latxaphong to reporters during the visit of Deputy Mayor of Vientiane, Mr. Bounchanh Sinlavong to the construction site on 17 August.
Construction work is being carried out by a South Korean company.
