Track-and-field referees upgraded for 25th SEA Games

(KPL) More than 320 track-and-field referees have been trained for serving the coming the 25th SEA Games, the biggest sporting event of Southeast Asia, which will be held in December this year.

The training was from 8 to12 October in Vientiane. The trainees underwent an intensive course by trainers from the International Track-and-Field Federation to ensure that their judgement conforms to international standards.

A trial competition to test the readiness of the national track-and-field athletes was also held at the National Stadium on Monday.

The National Track-and-Field Federation has also requested the 25th SEA Games? National Organising Committee to consider its facilitation of the federation?s personnel preparation for serving the 25th SEA Games.

Present at the closing ceremony of the training on Monday, were the Vice-President of the National Sport and Gymnastic Committee, Mr Somphou Phongsa, and over 80 trainees and relevant officials.
