The Lao SEA Games Organising Committee (LAOSOC) will oversee the installation of timing devices and other technology at the national sports complex in Dongsanghin village, Xaythany district in September and October.
In Vientiane last week, the Lao National Sports Committee (LNSC) announced the Malaysian company Velocity Sports Equipment as the appointed sports equipment supplier for the 25th SEA Games to be held in Vientiane later this year.
Last week, an agreement between the two bodies was signed by LNSC Vice President Mr Somphou Phongsa and Director of Velocity Sports Equipment, Mr Yap June Kit.
Chairman of the LAOSOC Technical Committee, Mr Phouvanh Vongsouthi said the committee will purchase a range of international standard sporting equipment from the company.
The equipment includes timing devices and scoreboards to be installed at tennis courts, shooting fields, diving pools, swimming pools, indoor courts and the National Football Stadium.
Mr Phouvanh said the company had supplied equipment for use in previous SEA Games.
The Football Thai Factory Sporting Goods Company has agreed to provide sports equipment and uniforms to the committee for use by various national Lao sporting squads, including the table tennis, petanque, sepak takraw, shooting, archery and golf teams.
The committee will also purchase equipment from China to use at the games.
