A spectacular display of aerial feats will take place in the skies over Vientiane in the lead-up to the 25th SEA Games on December 9-18.

The event will include displays by the Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Aerobatics Team, a joint sky diving display by the India Armed Forces and Lao People's Army and motorcycle driving aerobatics by the Indian Army's Dare Devils.

At the Lao National Sports Committee's (LNSC) office on Monday, LNSC President Dr Phouthong Sengakhom and Indian Ambassador to Laos Suresh K. Goel discussed the planned performances.

Mr Goel said the Indian teams were keen to perform in Laos , either on December 7 or 8, and plan to use new planes for the performances.

It will be the first time Vientiane residents have witnessed the motorcycle and sky diving displays, but the second time the aerobatics team will have flown over the city after performing during the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People's Army in January this year.

The display was very popular and the LNSC is pleased to be able to invite the teams from India to perform in Laos again.

Mr Goel said Laos will be a successful host of the games, an internationally important event.

Dr Phouthong said the committee will also discuss the planned displays with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Lao government has organised performances for the opening and closing ceremonies of the games.

Dr Phouthong said the Indian aerobatics team put on a successful performance in Laos earlier this year and expects the second show to be even more spectacular.
